Rania Abdel Hamid, 45, is married and the mother of three children. Her journey began with a personal passion for breeding lovebirds—a hobby she had enjoyed for many years before transforming it into a family business that contributes to improving her household income.
Although the business was already established before receiving financing, the war severely affected its continuity, forcing operations to come to a temporary halt. Despite these challenges, Rania preserved the project’s facilities and bird cages, believing that every ending could become a new beginning. She later received a loan of ILS 15,000 from ASALA, enabling her to purchase new birds and revive her business.
Determined to expand her venture, Rania built a dedicated room adjacent to her home for breeding and caring for the birds. This allowed her to balance her family responsibilities while managing her business effectively. Along the way, she faced several challenges, most notably providing a suitable environment and proper ventilation for the birds, as well as the significant increase in the prices of lovebirds following the war. Nevertheless, she refused to let these obstacles stand in her way.
Over time, Rania established a strong reputation in the field and built a loyal customer base that continues to seek her products. She believes that her success is not solely the result of financial support, but also of her determination and the unwavering encouragement she received from her husband, who has been her greatest source of support throughout her journey.
Today, Rania takes great pride in achieving a meaningful level of financial independence. Looking ahead, she aspires to expand the space dedicated to her business and grow its operations further. She firmly believes that any hobby can become a genuine opportunity for success when combined with perseverance, dedication, and continuous hard work.
