Rania Farah Qumsieh, together with her husband, is working to turn a unique talent for carving and transforming olive wood into a business that provides a sustainable source of income for their family. Their journey began with a small workshop producing handmade crafts. At the beginning of August 2025, Ms. Rania decided to apply for financing of USD 5,000. The decision was not easy, as she was initially concerned about the burden of the loan. The financing helped increase the workshop’s production capacity, with production rising from two pieces per week to 10 pieces. The family’s income also increased by 40% within a few months. As a result, the workshop evolved from a small operation into a sustainable source of income for the family.
